Lighthouse

The Northbank Lighthouse is my favourite building in Dublin. It's located at the mouth of the Liffey, where the river meets the sea. I built a scaled down replica of the lighthouse for an exhibition at The Science Gallery in Trinity College. It's almost 7 metres tall and 2.3 metres wide. Internally it's set up as a one room space with a desk, a chair, book shelves and power sockets. It's furnished with several photographs, small sculptures and other artworks relating to my interest in the Liffey. Visitors to the space can use it for 30 minutes for whatever purpose they wish, to read a book, send some emails, watch a dvd or simply shut out the outside world for a while.
